School bus driver suffers heart attack, crashes

LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A school bus driver suffered a heart attack and crashed Tuesday morning. It happened near 2nd Avenue South and H street in Lake Worth.

It's believed the driver lost control after going into cardiac arrest.

The bus knocked down a fence, some trees and a pole and hit two buses.

Initial reports said no students were seriously hurt. An aide and student reportedly sustained minor injuries.

The front end of the bus sustained damage.

The driver, whose name has not been released, is in her 50s and was in the parking lot of (Lake Worth Community High School) when she lost control, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Capt. Don DeLucia told the Palm Beach Post.

The driver's condition was not released.

The Post reports traffic lights on the corners of Interstate 95 and Lake Worth Road, and Lake Worth Road and South A Street are not working. Lake Worth Utilities are on the scene trying to determine the cause of the power outage, but workers on the scene say there are no lines down and the power poles that seem undamaged.
