WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - It wasn't a new smartphone that brought out the crowds in Wellington Saturday. It was the chance for television stardom.

Near the front of the line outside the Metro PCS store, Caro Fernandez breaks into her rendition of "Over the Rainbow".

"There's videos of me when I was three singing but more seriously when I was 8, and so it's something I wanted to do my whole life and so I thing I can add a good spin on the music industry today," said Fernandez.

Saturday was the last South Florida audition for the new Fox show "The X Factor".

With a name like Ashley Rock, you'd think this West Palm Beach resident is destined to be in music.  She certainly hopes so.

"I like to sing and act but I just feel like I was born to be on stage and born to perform in front of everyone."

Rock, and the other hopefuls, didn't come face to face with Simon Cowell, but there was a Paula among the four judges, who included Lesley Streeter of the Palm Beach Post.  They were asked to rate the contestants on a scale of one to five.

Five is a big number for the first X-Factor winner.  He or she will receive a $5,000,000 recording contract.  That's plenty to sing about.

No word yet who the winner of this weekends audition was.  But that person will go on to a regional audition in Dallas.
