Five arrested on prostitution-related charges

ST. LUCIE COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - St. Lucie County Sheriff's officials arrested five people Wednesday at a hotel in St. Lucie West on prostitution-related charges, according to recently released affidavits.

Port St. Lucie residents Les Ruiz, 47, and Kasia Banaszak, 30, and Fort Pierce residents Stephanie Marie Moore, 23, and Julie Post, 28, each face a single misdemeanor solicitation for prostitution charge.

Joseph Charles Bonadia, 28, of Port St. Lucie, was arrested on a felony possession of oxycodone charge and a misdemeanor accessory solicitation of prostitution charge. All were arrested at a Holiday Inn Express & Suites in the 1600 block of Northwest Courtyard Circle in St. Lucie West.

Banaszak, apparently using the alias "Amber," was found during an investigation of adult escorts on backpage.com.

A woman with the posting name of "Amber" offered "companionship" for $200. She told an undercover investigator, who she met at the hotel, to place the money on the table as a "donation," for which he could receive "whatever you want".

That, according to the affidavit, is when "Amber" walked toward the deputy, took off her clothes and grabbed him. Investigators identified Banaszak as "Amber".

Bonadia said Moore indicated she had a "client call" and asked him for a ride. He said they stopped on the way and Moore "picked up pills and she 'broke' him off one for the ride." He said he drove Moore to the hotel. Sheriff's officials found two oxycodone pills while searching Bonadia's car.

Post was arrested after investigators say she offered sexual favors for $200 and was given money.

Moore met with an undercover investigator, removed a pack of condoms from her purse and placed them on the night stand. She partially undressed and was arrested.

Ruiz, whose role wasn't immediately clear, and Banaszak each were released Wednesday from the St. Lucie County jail on $250 bail, a jail official said Friday. Post was released Thursday on $250 bail.

Bonadia was released Thursday on $5,250 bail, while Moore was held Friday on $250 bail.
