Boat sinks off Bahamas leaving Boynton boaters bobbing

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Three Boynton Beach men bobbed around, just off the Bahamas this weekend after their boat sank.

They clung to one another and faith that the Coast Guard would zero in on their electronic cry for help.

Before the Coast Guard rescued the three stranded boaters, they grabbed the one thing that likely saved their life.

The "E" pirp, an electronic device that activated when their boat sank.

The men were stranded for hours, while the "E" pirp broadcast it's emergency signal.  They are all back home, safe.

The Coast Guard says having the small device could be the difference between life and death out in the ocean.
