Marissa Bagg joined the WPTV team in May of 2011. Up until her adventurous television career landed her in sunny South Florida, the Miami native worked in the western United States. Marissa was the crime reporter in Spokane, Washington where she covered a rash of high-profile police shootings and an attempted bombing at an MLK Jr. Day parade. She also won an Edward R. Murrow award in 2009.
Marissa worked as an Anchor-Reporter at KFDA in Amarillo, Texas and KOBR in Roswell, New Mexico. Each of those positions offered great learning experiences for Marissa, but she always felt the need to get closer to family in Florida. She had no problem saying goodbye to the snow, and hello to the heat. She's ready to cover everything from education, to crime, to hurricanes... she survived Andrew in 1992.
Marissa attended the University of Florida, and is a huge Gator fan. Come football season, you may notice she's lost her voice.
