Dan Krauth is an investigative reporter who focuses on stories that create change and get results.
Over the past decade, he has reported on a variety of stories ranging from catching thieves on camera stealing from the less fortunate, getting a job at an upscale banquet hall to expose workers reserving leftover food, and uncovering the living conditions of animals raised for food on large farms.
He has received a number of awards including an Emmy for exposing an increase in the amount of gang activity in urban neighborhoods and was awarded 1st place for "Best General News Report" by the Associated Press.
Prior to joining the Contact 5 Investigators with WPTV, Dan reported for the FOX affiliate in Grand Rapids Michigan, worked as a weekend anchor and reporter for WISE/WPTA-TV in Fort Wayne Indiana and produced a two hour weekday morning show in Rockford Illinois for WREX-TV.
He grew up in a suburb of Detroit and graduated with honors from the University of Michigan with degrees in both Communications and English.
In his spare time, Dan enjoys being an active member of the University of Michigan Alumni Club, exercising, reading and exploring South Florida.
