Katie LaGrone - Fox29 WFLX TV, West Palm Beach, Florida-

Katie LaGrone

Katie LaGrone is an award-winning investigative journalist whose reports have been recognized locally, nationally and internationally. She was the first broadcast journalist to expose restaurants serving customers substitute fish but calling it grouper. The investigation spawned an international investigation by the Food and Drug Administration. The report also won Katie her first National Edward R. Murrow Award.

Since joining the Fox 29 News Team in July, 2010, Katie has exposed a wide range of consumer injustices, questionable government spending and consumer safety concerns.

Katie always knew she wanted a career in news. Back in middle school and high school she was the "school anchor" fellow students relied on to get the news of the day. The 5 minute broadcast everyday would be Katie's first dose of LIVE television.

But before she started her professional career on television, Katie spent several years behind the scenes as a promotion producer for WTVJ in Miami, WBBH & WZVN in Fort Myers and WRAL in Raleigh, North Carolina.

After four years in marketing & promotions, Katie couldn't get the news bug she inherited in middle school out of her system. She returned to the newsroom and has worked as a reporter in Columbus, GA and Fort Myers, FL.

She is thrilled to be a part of WPTV, the most watched news station in Florida. She is also excited to back in South Florida where she grew up.

Katie is always looking for solid tips and powerful stories. Feel free to send her an e-mail, give her a call or just stop by.
