Lantana Apartment Fire Injures Three

LANTANA, FL (WFLX) Two youngsters and their mother were injured in a Saturday morning fire at a Lantana apartment building on the 1100 block of South Broadway Lane.

The fire happened around 11:30 a.m. at 1100 South Broadway Lane.

A five-year-old boy, a 17-year-old female and an adult female believed to be their mother were taken to Bethesda Memorial Hospital in Boynton Beach, according to Palm Beach County Fire Rescue Chief Steve Delai.

Delai said the victims suffered minor injuries and possible smoke inhalation.

He also said that the family was "pulled out through the front door."

Earlier in the day it had been reported that the three were trapped in a second-story bedroom and firefighters had to use a ladder to rescue them through a window.

The fire is believed to have started in the kitchen stove.

The names of the victims have not been released.
