Prosecution coming close to resting its case in Anthony murder trial

ORLANDO, FL (WFLX) - The prosecution in the Casey Anthony murder trial could rest its case this week. Anthony is accused of killing her 2-year-old daughter, Caylee.

A hair and fiber investigator for the FBI took the stand Monday morning. Stephen Shaw told jurors he compared hair found in Anthony's trunk with hair taken from Caylee's skull.  "The previously reported Q-12 hair caucasian head hair exhibited charactiristics of apparent decomposition at the root end exhibited the same microscopic characteristics as the caucasian head hairs from the hair mass. Accordingly, this hair and the hair mass is consistent with originating from the same source," said Shaw.

Prosecutors believe Anthony suffocated Caylee with duct tape. The defense contends the toddler drowned in her grandparents' swimming pool.

There are only a few more witnesses for the prosecution left. They include a tattoo artist Anthony visited in the weeks following her daughter's disappearance.
