Apples: Worst of the 'Dirty Dozen'

(WFLX) - Eating healthy could wind up being bad for you! The "Environmental Working Group" put apples at the top of it's "Dirty Dozen" list.

The group says apples carry the most pesticide residue. Celery, strawberries, peaches and spinach rounded out the top five.

Meanwhile, onions, corn and pineapples made the top of its "Clean Fifteen" list. Those produce items have the least pesticide residue.

Dieticians say the benefits of eating fresh fruits and veggies outweigh the risk of pesticide exposure.

They say if you are concerned, you can buy organic or peel your produce.
