Stuart teen featured on 'Animal Planet' after surviving rattlesnake bite

STUART, FL (WFLX) - A Treasure Coast teen is featured on a national show about venomous animals.

In May, 14-year-old Andrew Laster was bitten by an Eastern Diamondback Rattlesnake.

Laster was walking through the wooded area behind his home in Stuart when a four and a half foot snake took a nasty bite out of the Martin County teenager's calf. He was airlifted to Miami Children's Hospital where doctors had to use over 20 viles of anti-venom across several days.

"My vision was going blurry. Everything started to actually go white," he recalled. "I don't want to die."

Laster was featured on the "Animal Planet" show called "Swamp Wars".
