Alan Jackson returns to Square Grouper

JUPITER, FL (WFLX) - It was a packed Wednesday afternoon at the Square Grouper restaurant located in Jupiter.

It's obviously not the weekend yet, and it certainly wasn't happy hour, so why the large crowd? People actually came out to see country singer, Alan Jackson. The famous Jupiter resident was at the waterfront tiki bar shooting his latest music video, "Long Way to Go".

Jim Burg, Square Grouper's owner, found out that Jackson and his camera crew picked this spot about a week ago. "I think Alan pulled the trigger and said I want to do it here again," Burg said.

It's of course not the first time Jackson has put this tropical, relaxing setting in the national spotlight. The singer came to the restaurant several years ago to film the video for his hit song, "It's Five O'clock Somewhere".

As for the extras who appeared in this latest music video -- some are hired help, while others live in the area. "He really wanted to use all locals," Burg said.

One would think that the cloudy skies would hamper production, but that wasn't the case.  In fact, the rain was exactly what the script called for. "But the rain won't leave and the pain won't ease. And the sun don't want to shine," the lyrics say.

Just in case mother nature didn't cooperate, the production crew had another plan.  "We actually have rain here," said Burg.  But they didn't need the fake rain. Everything went according to plan.

The Square Grouper staff is just grateful to have Jackson back at the Jupiter tiki bar. "He supplied a lot of jobs and we rented a lot of hotel rooms. He's just a good neighbor," said Burg.
