Lantana shopping plaza evacuated

LANTANA, FL (WFLX) - A shopping plaza in suburban Lantana was evacuated after a 2-inch natural gas line was punctured by a forklift, said Palm Beach County Fire Rescue spokesman Don DeLucia. 

Updated, TUE 10 PM: The leak has been capped and the area is safe. Stores have reopened for business.

Previously: Hazmat and Fire Rescue crews responded at approximately 9:42 a.m. to the shopping plaza in the 6100 bock of Congress Avenue.

Florida Public Utilities is on site for the repair. It is 98 percent contained.

All businesses in the area have been evacuated.
