WPB summer camp relocated due to electrical fire

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WPB NEWS) - An electrical fire as a result of a lightening strike has prompted a shutdown of power at Gaines Park in West Palm Beach.

Children attending summer camp at Gaines Park are being relocated to the Pleasant City Community Center at 500 22nd Street.

Parents should pick up their children at the Pleasant City facility at the end of the camp day. Parents with questions can call 804-4940. This affects 110 children.

FPL will be restringing about 700 feet of underground cable to the Gaines Park Center Wednesday.

The strike occurred Tuesday evening. There were no injuries or structure damage to the facility however there was heavy smoke when power was restored Wednesday morning.
