PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - If you've picked up a beauty magazine in the past 30 years, I guarantee you've read her work. And I'm going to take you one-on-one with the women whose first job at out beauty school was providing makeup for Nancy Reagan.
"My first job was with the White House with the Reagan Administration, but with her came the entourage of Hollywood," said Deborah Koepper of Deborah Koepper Beauty.
Koepper can give you tips on how to make your lashes look longer and your lips fuller, but that's not her top priority. "It's always an inside job," said Koepper. "And the best thing a woman can wear is her confidence. And, I think, what we do in here, we make women confident."
And ready to face the world. "In the business world, they call it being a 'kingmaker'. In our world, it's a 'queenmaker.'"
Which is done by placing the essence of a woman in the spotlight. "A lot of women come to me and say, 'Well, I went to a counter, and I had to go home and wash the makeup off.' Because it wasn't her."
Pressured for years to come with her own makeup line, Koepper waited until the time was right. "Our makeup line launched on 'Confessions of a Shopaholic'. Right now, we're on two feature films. Just was involved during Easter with the first episode of the last season of 'Entourage.'"
We're blessed enough to have access to her full-service salon nestled in the quaint town of Palm Beach.
Rachel said, "You were doing a lady's makeup, and she was going to be traveling. And you were able to sell her one compact for the whole trip. You're kind of like, 'Let's be efficient here.'"
"True, you have to work with your clients' needs," said Koepper. "Our clients travel all over the world. They can buy anything they need. I remember that client. She wanted to buy a lot of stuff. But, she said, I'm going on a cruise, and I have this little bag. So what we was give her the compact that takes care of blush, eyes shadows, and it was her bronzer all in one."
It's service like this that makes her one of the best. "Each person in your chair, no matter what they do, where they are from, you get something from them. And, hopefully, I give something to everybody."
