DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) - The Delray Beach man, suspected of killing two children back in March, is scheduled to stand trial Monday in Federal Court.
34 year-old Clem Beauchamp faces serious weapons charges.
Today's trial is not related to the children's death, but Fox 29 News has learned it could shed light on the open case.
Nearly five months ago two children were found dead floating in a canal in Delray Beach.
They were the son and daughter of Beauchamp's girlfriend, Felicia Brown.
Beauchamp has not been charged with the childrens' deaths, but he remains a prime suspect.
In fact, Felicia Brown was found killed months before her children died and court documents show while Beauchamp was in custody, he confessed to killing her.
Authorities say before she died, Brown had agreed to testify against Beauchamp in today's federal case.
If convicted, Beauchamp could face 30 years in prison.
