Shopper Hopper program not gone yet

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Boynton Beach's "Shopper Hopper" program may have a new lease on life.

The bus service takes seniors around town, and for many it's their only means of transportation.

Tuesday night city commissioners voted to end the service, then later decided to give staff until September 30 to come up with a more cost effective plan.

This way, they may be able to keep at least some of the four buses running.

The program costs Boynton Beach about $1.3 million a year.
