Florida mom accused of trying to sell son

PINELLAS COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - The mother, accused of trying to sell her child for $2,000, is speaking out.

She says the police had their facts all wrong when they arrested her at a Florida grocery store this weekend.

Twenty-eight-year-old Jessica Mickels is currently in the Pinellas County Jail.

She says she wasn't going to permanantly give her son away.

Mickels said, "That's a lie because I would never do anything like that."

The couple who she allegedly offered the baby to have been trying to adopt the boy for years but wanted to go through an attorney.

A judge denied the couple from having temporary custody because they were accused of child abuse in 2005 when they were foster parents.
