PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX) - Our first Duffy's High School MVP of the Week goes to senior Anthony Hicks, defensive tackle/offensive guard.

He was nominated by Coach Chris Davis because of his skills not just on the field but off. "I'm actually going to be a dual enrollment student," said Hicks. "I'm taking all my classes at Palm Beach State College."

Hicks' load isn't light either. This fall, he's taking calculus 3, physics with chemistry, microeconomics and English. "Anytime you have a guy that's going to major in aerospace engineering, it makes it pretty easy," said Coach Davis when asked why he nominated Hicks. "His GPA is the highest we have on our active roster right now."

While Hicks has learned a lot from the books, he's also learned a thing or two from the game of football. "It mimics life. You earn everything that you get; nothing's given to you," he said. "It just makes you feel so good at the end of the day knowing you worked hard."
