WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - This week's Duffy's High School MVP of the Week goes to Wellington Community High School senior Grant Smallridge, running back. "I'm a hard worker," said Smallridge. "I focus on my academics as well as athletics."
Smallridge plans to have a busy schedule post graduation. "I plan to play at an Ivy League School and major in either business or medicine."
Coach Chris Romano nominated Smallridge because of his great attitude at a tough time. "I really wanted to promote Grant because last year at the very early in the season, he suffered a knee injury," said Romano. "He was out for the year. From that point on, he just dedicated himself to get back to the team and play. He's done nothing buy excel in the classroom and in the rehab."
Smallridge also knows it's important to be a leader. "I have to be responsible for my team."
