More than 100 charged with felony drug trafficking in Boynton

BOYNTON BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Following Wednesday morning's mult-agency raid at the Intracoastal Park Clubhouse on 2240 N. Federal Highway in Boynton Beach, felony drug trafficking charges have been filed against more than 100 people.

Codenamed "Operation Boynton Blues," the six-month operation stemmed from citizen complaints, specifically those referring to the sale of Oxycodone, which is commonly referred to as "blues".

Arrests were made on suspects who police believe sold or conspired to sell Oxycodone to undercover officers on the streets of southern Palm Beach County, according to Boynton Beach Chief of Police G. Matthew Immler.

The task force behind Wednesday morning's raid was comprised of the Boynton Beach Police Department, Delray Beach Police Department and specially assigned prosecutors from the Palm Beach County State Attorney's Office.

In the past six months, police worked undercover to infiltrate and identify more than 100 suspects, primarily of Haitian American descent, who are known associates of the street gang Top 6, according to the Boynton Beach Police Department.

So far, the Boynton Beach Police Department reports it has taken into custody 40 individuals who face charges including trafficking in Oxycodone, conspiracy to traffic Oxycodone, sale of stolen property, credit card fraud, public assistance fraud and prescription fraud.

Police have arrest warrants for dozens more and expect to have them in custody in the coming days.
