Port St. Lucie police investigating a murder

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - An out-of-town request for a welfare check leads Port St. Lucie police to a murder investigation.

Just before 9:00 Friday night, police went to a home in the 500 block of Kilpatrick Avenue. After several failed attempts to speak to owners, Sharon and Robert Fein, police entered the back of the residence.

In a rear bedroom, police found a grisly scene.  Sharon Feen was on the floor in a pool of blood. She had been shot in the head.

Robert was found on the bed, injured but still alive.

According to police reports, the couple were going through a divorce.

Neighbor and friend emory degraw doesn't believe robert was capable of such a gruesome act... "I texted him, and told him that he and Sharon could come over, said neighbor and friend Emory DeGraw. "I didn't hear anything back from him, and that's the last that I know."

Robert Feen is still alive, suffering from facial trauma. He was unconscious when he was taken to the hospital.

Police have not released any other information.
