Lake Worth driver killed in fiery crash

LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - Authorities believe they have identified the man killed in a fiery crash on Interstate 95 in Lake Worth Sunday as Michael J. Mangone, 35, of Lake Worth.

While positive identification cannot be identified due to the fire, Florida Highway Patrol officials say upon speaking with the driver's wife, it is believed to be her husband Mangone.

Mangone was heading northbound in the right lane of I-95 near 10th Avenue North before 6 p.m. "at a high rate of speed," according to FHP.

For reasons yet to be determined, Mangone lost control of the car. The car spun off the highway, hit a concrete pole and caught fire, FHP reports.

Mangone died on the scene.
