LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - This week's Duffy's High School MVP of the Week goes to Park Vista senior Thomas Marciante, linebacker/captain.

It's been an exciting year for Marciante. "My teammates voted me captain this year for the football team," he said. "That was probably one of the greatest feelings I've ever felt -- knowing that they trust me to make decisions for the team."

His coach, Brian Dodds, is especially proud of this young man. "He's such a great overal kid. He's one of our captains. The kids selected him this year," said Coach Dodds. "He does a lot of community service work. He helped us with our youth camp this summer. He's always the first one to volunteer for anything that needs to be done."

Here's maybe why he loves volunteering for the youth camp. "When I was little, I always looked up to these guys growing up playing flag," said Marciante. "I'd always look over there and see them standing on the side, and I've always wanted to be like them."
