LOXAHATCHEE, FL (WFLX) - This week's Duffy's High School MVP of the Week goes to Seminole Ridge High School senior Gary Holmes, running back.

Holmes has a lot to be proud of these days. "We're 5 and 2 right now. We're number one in district," said Holmes.

After graduation, he wants to study engineering or architecture as well as play football. "I have four offers from Middle Tennessee, Western Michigan, Florida Tech and Bryant that's in Rhode Island."

Holmes has played three years under varsity coach Matt Dickman. "What I enjoy about coaching him is if there's something he needs to work on in his game or as a person, he'll make it a point to get better at that."

When asked why he loved the game of football, Holmes' smiled and said, "I love it so much because it's a team sport. You always have to work together -- from the lineman to the quarterback to the running back -- so everyone's on the same page."
