Agreement Reached In Synagogue Fight

JUPITER, FL (WFLX) A settlement has been reached in a bitter contract dispute between a Florida synagogue and its former cantor.

Temple Beth Am

of Jupiter and Bruce Benson jointly announced an agreement Tuesday afternoon.

Benson had left to start his own organization a few miles away.

The temple had sued, saying it was a violation of the non-compete clause in Benson's contract.

FOX 29 confirms under the agreement, benson is allowed to hold Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur services as scheduled at Jupiter High School this week and next week.

However, Benson can't hold any more services in the Jupiter area.

The fight ended just in time for the Jewish holy days, which begin Wednesday evening.
