Catalytic converters 'disappearing' from cars again

PALM BEACH COUNTY, FL (WFLX) - Muffler and exhaust shops around Palm Beach County say they're seeing more and more car owners coming in with missing catalytic converters.

They're found under your car, and lately shop owners of places, like 'Mufflers, Brakes and More', say people are starting to get hit again.

The owner says thieves are taking two minutes or less to cut them off while you're parked somewhere. He says it was a problem last year but then stopped. Now, he says, the thieves seem to be back.

It's mainly SUV's and trucks that are being brought in.

Law enforcement says the best way to prevent yourself from these thieves is to park close to the business or in a well lit area.
