Man shot inside Jensen Beach home

JENSEN BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Following an argument between three people in a Jensen Beach home early Monday morning, one man has been shot and rushed to the hospital, according to Martin County Sheriff's Office Public Information Officer Rhonda Irons.

Irons said the argument was between a husband and a wife, as well as an unidentified 33-year-old male who was visiting their residence.

Deputies responded to the scene at a mobile home at 81 NE 15th Terrace in Jensen Beach around 1:12 a.m. where the husband told investigators he got his 12-gauge shotgun and fired a blast at the 33-year-old man, hitting his lower back, according to the MCSO.

The husband and wife are cooperating with detectives and are still being interviewed.

The husband told investigators he fired the shot because he was in fear of his life.

As standard procedure, Irons said deputies and investigators are waiting on a search warrant to search the home.

The man was rushed to Lawnwood Regional Medical Center by Martin County Fire Rescue. His condition is currently unknown.

No arrests have been made.
