Lake Worth apartments 'unlivable' after fire

LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - Two Lake Worth apartments have now been determined to be "unlivable" following a fire that broke out earlier Tuesday morning.

Investigators believe the fire was accidental and likely caused by a lit cigarette. The blaze started on the first floor of a complex in Fountainview Garden Apartments near Kirk Road and 10th Avenue.

Fire investigators tell us the flames spread from the first floor to the top floor destroying both apartments involved.

The Red Cross helped the two families, four adults and two children, escape the apartment before the fire spread. No one was hurt.
