PBSO: Serial rapist strikes again

LAKE WORTH, FL (WFLX) - A serial rapist in Palm Beach County has apparently struck again.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office is now linking a September 23rd sexual assault to four other attacks.

According to the sheriff's office, a 22-year-old female was attacked at 6:10 a.m. while walking on 10th Avenue North near Canal Street, just east of the Esperanza Apartments.

The victim described her attacker as 5'05" to 5'06", pudgy, with shoulder-length dark hair and a Spanish accent.

The suspect took the victim into bushes located approximately six feet from the sidewalk where they fought. He bit the victim twice in the face after she bit one of his index fingers. The bites did not break the skin but did leave an impression, according to the sheriff's office.

The suspect held the victim down with his arm across her throat and she lost consciousness. She woke up with her pants off and purse missing.

The sheriff's office says the attack is the work of a man about 25 years of age who is about 5' 5" in height.

From April 2009 to January 2010 four attacks by a man fitting the same description happened in an area stretching from Jupiter to central Palm Beach County.

If anyone has information regarding this suspect they are urged to contact Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS.
