PSL police: Man caught collecting manure to grow mushrooms

PORT ST. LUCIE, FL (WFLX) - A Port St. Lucie man is under arrest after, police said, he trespassed onto the Circle R. Ranch along 9400 Glades Cut-Off Road.

According to police, Timothy Chelikas climbed the gate to get on the property Sunday. There are signs around the property warning people not to trespass.

Two workers were moving cattle at the ranch when they spotted Chelikas, so police were called.

An officer interviewed Chelikas and said the suspect told him he wanted cow manure to grow mushrooms. The type of mushrooms was not specified.

The 30 year old was arrested on a trespassing charge and taken to the St. Lucie County Jail.
