OutKast member sentenced in Miami

MIAMI (WFLX) - A Grammy award-winning rapper "faced the music" after running into trouble in South Florida.

Antwan Patton, better known as "Big Boi" from the group OutKast was in a Miami courtroom Thursday. A judge ordered the 36-year-old to three months of drug testing and community service.

Back in August, customs officers say they discovered Ecstasy and Viagra pills on the rapper when he was getting off a cruise ship at the Port of Miami.

"The state attorney and judge determined that Big Boi was eligible for a judicial monitoring program. He will be asked to provide a urine sample for the next three months. Provide he tests clean, provide a $1,000 donation to the Voices for Children Foundation and a $1,000 to the friends of drug court the case will be dismissed," said attorney Richard Hersch.

The entertainer must also fulfill 15 hours of community service.
