Madoff's wife & son break silence By Rachel Leigh | October 31, 2011 at 1:47 PM EST - Updated June 25 at 7:30 PM NEW YORK (WFLX) - In a recent interview, Bernie Madoff's wife, Ruth Madoff, and son, Andrew Madoff, revealed new information about the events surrounding his Ponzi scheme. During the interview, Ruth insisted she did "nothing, absolutely nothing" wrong or illegal. Ruth's son, Andrew, was asked if he will ever forgive his father, who has tried to send letters to explain his Ponzi scheme. Andrew said, "There's no way to explain what he did." He added, "I'd like to find a way to forgive him, but I'm not there yet." Andrew also echoed the sentiments of his mother saying "I have nothing to hide," denying any knowledge of his father's illegal activity. It was revealed that Bernie Madoff called NBC, who was holding the interview, from his prison location overnight in an apparent attempt to get messages to his wife and son. Copyright 2011 WFLX.
