Teen arrested after faking his own kidnapping, demanding money

DELRAY BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A Delray Beach man, charged in connection with an alleged kidnapping plot, is expected in court Wednesday.

On Sunday, Joshua Pee was found in a Delray Beach hotel with a 17-year-old Orlando teenager.

Investigators say the teen was at the Chris Evert Raymond James Pro-Celebrity Tennis tournament with his parents.

Soon after, the teenager disappeared, and the teen's father got a call saying his son was kidnapped.

The caller demanded $50,000.

Police and the FBI tracked down Pee and the teen at a motel room on Federal Highway.

Police say Pee ran but was eventually tasered and arrested.

He's now locked up in the Palm Beach County Jail.

The teenager was also arrested, but no other information is available regarding his charges because he is a juvenile.
