WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) For five years, Pani Meshkati, the owner of Epic Tattoo Studio in Boynton Beach, has hosted the "Tats for Tots" fundraiser in Palm Beach County.

"All the toys are donated to the "Toys in the sun run," which is the annual bike run that runs down south.  All the food goes to local food pantries," said Meshkati.

For years, Palm Beach County Fire Rescue EMT Robert Mortimer has taken part, donating what he could, when he could.

"I figured...if we're serving the community in one way, why not serve it other ways too.  Every year we try to donate as much as we can...this seemed like a good cause," said Mortimer.

This year, despite the economy, Mortimer managed to raise enough money to buy 19 children's bikes.

"We had an assembly line going all last night, and then this morning to put all the bikes together, and get them all ready for the event this evening," said Mortimer.

Meshkati promised not to read this story.  She wants to be like a kid on christmas morning, waiting for the surprise.

"This year, I've been set up for a big surprise.  I'm not really sure what it's going to be, but I really look forward to it," said Meshkati.

"I remember my first bike, and my dad was a firefighter, so nothing would be better than a firetruck pulling up and giving me a bicycle...that would have been the best thing in the world," added Mortimer.
