WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - You know her from 'Live and Let Die', 'Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman' and 'Open Hearts' at Kay Jewelers.
But Jane Seymour is also making a name for herself in the world of home décor. "When I was growing up, we didn't have any money. So I learned how to sew and make my own things and create my own atmosphere in my room really from an early age."
Yes, before becoming one of Hollywood's leading ladies, Seymour was a decorator. "I had my first job as a designer and embroiderer when I was 15 in England to help pay for my ballet shoes because I wanted to be a dancer."
Instead, she became a Bond Girl. Now, 30 plus years later, she's returning to her original passion of decorating -- collaborating with renowned designer Michael Amini. "She has impeccable taste," said Amini. "She understands colors, art; she understands Europe, my favorite. She's added so much. It has been a pleasure working together."
The pair's collection 'Hollywood Swank' is inspired by some of the movies Seymour's starred in which is available at El Dorado Furniture. "El Dorado is one of the most beautiful stores that I've seen in my entire life. We have traveled the world, and I've seen a lot of furniture stores," said Amini. "The presentation is magnificent. But the fact that we come to a store, that everyone is passionately involved with selling our furniture, it's such a pleasure to come and meet everybody and see the customers."
All the folks at El Dorado were excited to take photos and receive an autograph copy of both their books.
But before Jane Seymour is leaves in her limo, I asked her what's left on her bucket list. "You know I'm just having a struggle to try and keep up with everything that I'm doing already. But I just became a grandmother, and I'm about to become another one for a second time. Grandmother times two very soon. So I'm in the middle of being a grandmother, weddings, and a son who's in the midst of becoming a rock star," said Seymour. "There's a lot going on in my life, so I love anything that's creative. And I love the idea of listening to the customer and livening their experience 'cause I think that's what furniture design is about."
