Florida congresswoman to introduce anti-hazing bill

MIAMI, FL (WFLX) - A federal anti-hazing bill will soon be introduced in Congress.

Congresswoman Frederica Wilson, a Miami Democrat, announced plans for the bill on Tuesday.

The bill comes weeks after the homicide of Florida A&M University drum major, Robert Champion. Orange County deputies said Champion was punched and paddled in a hazing ritual during the school's "Marching 100 Band Trip" to the annual Florida Classic in Orlando.

Rep. Wilson said hazing is demeaning, dangerous and deadly and needs to be stopped.

There have been no arrests in the death of Champion.
