WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Police have announced a break in a 2008 rape case in West Palm Beach following DNA test results connecting two people to the crime.
Eduardo Antonanzas was led out of the West Palm Beach Police Department in handcuffs on Wednesday. He and Pasqualino Andriano, 21, are the prime suspects in a February 2008 rape of a 43-year-old woman.
A DNA sample from Andriano taken recently while he was in jail on separate charges matched DNA taken from the victim and from the crime scene.
Police say Andriano downplayed his role in the 2008 incident, and instead identified Antonanzas as the main suspect. Because the female victim could not immediately be located, Andriano was released. Police are still looking for him.
Both men are expected to face charges of armed sexual battery, aggravated battery, kidnapping and theft.
