Theft leads to fatal shooting in RPB By Rachel Leigh | December 29, 2011 at 3:50 PM EST - Updated June 26 at 5:00 AM ROYAL PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - One person is dead after an early morning shooting in Royal Palm Beach Thursday. According to the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office, at around 4:30 a.m., a group of suspects stole a pick-up truck from the Royal Village Townhouse community. After stealing the pick-up truck, the suspects went to a different area in the community and attempted to steal a motorcycle, PBSO reports. The owner of the motorcycle saw the suspects as they attempted to steal his motorcycle and fired at the group, killing one person. The shooting took place at 139 Sparrow Drive. PBSO says the motorcycle owner saw possibly two other suspects flee the scene, leaving behind the pick-up truck and motorcycle. Currently, no charges are being filed. Investigators said they are interviewing the motorcycle owner and will make a final decision on charges once that process is complete. The deceased man is between the ages of 19 and 23-years-old, a PBSO spokesperson told the Palm Beach Post. The body has been taken to the medical examiner. Copyright 2011 WFLX. All Rights Reserved.
