WELLINGTON, FL (WFLX) - Polo season kicks off Sunday with more teams and six different competitions.
On Wednesday, the International Polo Club announced their ninth season will begin on January 8.
Club President John Wash said the season will go from January 8 through April 22.
It will feature competitions such as the Herbie Pennell Cup, Joe Barry Memorial Cup, Ylvisaker Cup, Royal Salute C.V. Whitney Cup, USPA Piaget Gold Cup and the Nespresso 108th U.S. Open Polo Championship.
Seventeen different teams are expected to compete throughout the season.
Wash expects this season to be bigger and better than in last years.
