Hundreds gather for McMillan's funeral

BELLE GLADE, FL (WFLX)  Funeral services were held Friday morning for Jimmy McMillan, the owner of Alabama Georgia Grocery Store who was shot and killed in Belle Glade Monday during an armed robbery.

Hundreds of friends and family gathered at the First Baptist Church in Belle Glade to say goodbye to the 49-year-old man.  Friends described McMillan as a wonderful friend and fisherman who always showed those around him how much he cared.

Following the service, seven doves were released in front of the church.  The birds circled the crowd below several times for several minutes before flying away as a group.

The Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office continues to search for McMillan's killer. The gunman was caught on surveillance video.

Investigators describe the shooter as a 5' 8" black male wearing a green and white plaid hoodie the night of the murder.

A $25,000 reward is being offered.  Call Crime Stoppers at 1-800-458-TIPS if you can help.

Friday evening at 5:30 the Belle Glade City Commission will hold an emergency anti-violence meeting to discuss the ongoing issues with shootings in the community.
