STUART, FL (WFLX) - Shoppers in search of a bargain may visit a local resale shop for items taken from a local mansion.
Last month, Tiger Woods' ex-wife Elin Nordegren tore down her 17,000 square foot house in the Seminole Landing development near North Palm Beach.
As she plans to build another large home in its place, dozens of items from the old home were salvaged and put on the shelves at Habitat for Humanity's ReStore in Stuart.
At the Web site www.habitatmartin.org, several items are listed and shown in photographs, including a hand-carved wooden mantel, a vintage brass and iron staircase railing and Swarovski crystal chandeliers. The site also suggests that items from American singer Perry Como will be sold at the store.
Scripps Treasure Coast Newspapers report the store has had record-breaking sales as word spreads the items are for sale. Reports say it took three people two days to stock the shelves for Tuesday's shoppers.
The store, located at 2555 SE Bonita Street in Stuart, Fla., opens at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday.
