FAU names remainder of football staff

BOCA RATON, FL (WFLX)  New Florida Atlantic University head football coach Carl Pelini announces the remainder of his staff today.

He names Brian Wright offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach.  Wright is charged with revitalizing the Owls' offense, which finished dead last in total offense in the NCAA's Bowl Subdivision this season.  Wright comes to Boca Raton from Montana St., and says FAU will run a no-huddle, up-tempo scheme.

Jared Allen is the lone holdover from Howard Schnellenberger's staff.  He will coach tight ends.

After ten years at South Dakota St., Luke Meadows will lead the offensive line.

Kerry Dixon II will coach running backs.  Like Wright, Dixon is leaving Montana St.

Jeff Sims will serve as wide receivers coach and recruiting coordinator.  It's no surprise Pelini would look to his former employer, Nebraska, to fill his staff.  Associate head coach and defensive coordinator Jeff Sims is a former Cornhusker, and was the secondary coach in Lincoln the last three years.

Ross Watson was a graduate assistant at Nebraska, and will now coach the Owls' defensive backs.

Brett Diersen will be FAU's defensive line coach and special teams coordinator.  Like Sims, he is leaving Indiana.

Jovan Dewitt will serve as linebackers coach.
