Grenade found in WPB thrift store By Rachel Leigh | January 24, 2012 at 8:59 PM EST - Updated June 26 at 8:58 AM SUBURBAN WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - A grenade was found Tuesday morning at a Salvation Army thrift store in suburban West Palm Beach. Sheriff's investigators received a call about 9:45 a.m. from an employee saying he found a grenade in the donation bin. The grenade had a pin in it. Around 10:11 a.m., Palm Beach County Fire Rescue crews, including the Special Operations team, were dispatched to the scene, at 655 N. Military Trail. The grenade was placed into a containment unit, and the scene was cleared. Investigators did not say if the grenade was live. The Salvation Army Director thinks the grenade probably was inside some clothing that was donated. The store has since reopened. No one was injured. Copyright 2012 WFLX. All Rights Rerserved.
