Demi Moore 911 call: 'She's been having some issues'

(RNN) - Actress Demi Moore was suffering from convulsions after smoking an unknown substance, a 911 call that resulted in the star's hospitalization reveals.

"She smoked something. It's not marijuana, but it's similar to … It's similar to incense, and she seems to be having convulsions of some sort," says an unknown woman to the emergency dispatcher.

The woman tells the dispatcher that Moore was barely awake and in a "semi-conscious state" at the time of the call.

"She smoked something, but the reaction was accidental," the woman says. "It's accidental."

A second woman is then passed the phone.

"She's been having some issues lately with some other stuff, but I don't know what she's been taking or not," says the woman, who identified herself as a friend of Moore.

The woman reveals that Moore was not breathing normally in addition to shaking, convulsing and "burning up."

"I'm just taking cold water and putting it on her back, because she is burning up," she says.

The second woman says Moore was being held down because of the convulsions.

Although Moore reportedly cannot speak, she proves responsive, as the caller said, "Demi, can you hear me? Yeah. She's squeezing hands."

When asked if Moore had ever used the drug before, the woman says she does not know.

"There's been some stuff recently that we're all just finding out," she says.

The tape ends with a man's voice. He asks a woman, who he refers to as "Ru," for help with opening the gate. While it remains unknown, Ru could be a reference to Rumor Willis, Moore's daughter with ex-husband Bruce Willis.

Moore was hospitalized Monday evening, at which time her publicist said she was suffering from exhaustion and seeking treatment for her overall well-being.

TMZ has reported that Moore was hospitalized after "inhaling too much nitrous oxide," or whip-its. A friend at Moore's house apparently revealed this to paramedics.

The tabloid also reports that "references to specific drugs and other substances Demi ingested were redacted because of privacy issues."
