Herman Cain backs Newt Gingrich

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) - Former presidential candidate Herman Cain announced Saturday night he is backing Newt Gingrich.

"I hereby officially and enthusiastically endorse Newt Gingrich for the president of the United States," Cain told the crowd at the Palm Beach County GOP Lincoln Day Dinner at the Kravis Center in downtown West Palm Beach.

Cain ended his speech by calling Gingrich a true leader and telling the crowd that Gingrich would soon beat President Barack Obama and become the president.

Cain, a favorite of the tea party and a former pizza executive, left the race in early December after he faced accusations of unwanted sexual advances from several women.
