PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX) - The Palm Beach Gardens Police Department said it is one phone call away from solving the brutal beating, robbery and death of security guard Jacques Novembre.
Investigators have doubled the reward to $10,000 in hopes of getting a tip, they believe, will bring justice to Novembre's unsolved homicide.
Officers say on July 14, 2011 around 1 a.m., the 61-year-old unarmed guard was beaten badly while trying to stop a metal theft from happening in the back of Promenade Shopping Plaza.
On September 29th, doctors told Novembre's family members he had died from his injuries.
In cooperation with Palm Beach County Crime Stoppers, posters will be placed at multiple Palm Beach Gardens bus stops to bring more attention to the case.
According to police, Novembre was killed while on security duty after trying to stop the theft of a back flow drain. They filter water and contain copper.
Thieves have been targeting metals like copper to sell for scrap and earn cash.
