Tiger Woods draws a big crowd during practice rounds February 28, 2012 at 5:06 PM EST - Updated June 26 at 4:18 PM PALM BEACH GARDENS, FL (WFLX)- After waiting weeks in anticipation of seeing Tiger Woods, fans at PGA National finally got a chance to see the golf star. It was only a practice round for the Honda Classic, but hundreds of golf devotees scurried from hole to hole, patiently waiting for a glimpse of Woods. Some fans said they have been following Woods for years, but never got a chance to see him so close. Others said they just wanted to see how he looks since returning to golf. "In my opinion, he's still the best player out there. So if you're going to come watch somebody, I'm going to come watch him," said James White, a Woods fan. Others said they have pushed past the issues Woods faced off the course and pointed to the positive effect Woods is having on the Honda Classic. "He draws the crowd, he drew us out here and everybody wants to see him, he is a tiger," said Evelyn Jude, a Woods fan. Aside from the hundreds of fans, there was also a strong contingent of national media covering Woods practicing on the back nine of PGA National. Most of the people watching refrained from making too much noise. There were a few cheers and the sounds of cameras snapping. Copyright 2012 WFLX. All Rights Reserved.
