20 year old cold case reopened

WEST PALM BEACH, FL (WFLX) Detectives in Central Florida are reopening a cold case they believe has Treasure Coast ties.

On February 26th, 1992, Kissimmee chiropractor Ruth Haut was kidnapped from her office and murdered.

Detectives in Osceola County know that her ATM card was used at a bank on A1A in Vero Beach later that night.
Haut's body was found the next day in a St. Cloud orange grove. She had been stabbed a number of times.

Detectives now believe the killer may still be living in Indian River or Osceola counties.

They believe the suspect is a white male about 5'4" to 5'6" in his mid to late 40s.

If you have any information call the Osceola County Sheriff's office at 407-348-2222 or 1-800-423-TIPS.
