Brand new Palm City home going for $10

PALM CITY, FL (WFLX) - It may sound too good to be true, but if you're in the market for a new home, one could be yours for the bargain basement price of $10 (register to win).

For hundreds of people every day, the YMCA of the Treasure Coast is a home away from home -- offering classes and activities keeping minds and bodies healthy. Now, the Y will give one lucky person a new home of their own.

A brand new 3 bedroom/2 bath home in the Murano Development of Palm City is the grand prize for the annual "Easter House" raffle. "In these tough times, wth the down housing market and the economy is down, it's still a dream for people whether they are young or old to own a home of their own," said Robin Sutherland.

This is the 25th annual raffle. What was supposed to be a five-year fundraising effort is now into its third decade!

A $10 ticket gives you a chance at a $220,000 home. Buy three-raffle tickets, and you're entered to win a new car.

Now, if you don't want the home, you can take a $125,000 cash prize if you're the lucky winner. "Then, you can take the $125,000 and pay off mortgage you have on your home now, so it is a win-win for everybody."

All of the proceeds go towards replenishing the Y's scholarship fund. "So any program that we have, be it gymnastics, senior fitness, soccer, early childhood development, those are programs we have that are available for scholarships."

The home is open for tours seven-days a week between 10:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. The winner will be announced on April 5.
